JUNE-JULY REPORT

June and July we had a couple of groups come through the Oasis Lodge that both had some very good fishing. In the meanwhile I went up to Stuart, Florida to collect the new ALLURE that had been in the yard at A&J's Boatworks for the previous 3 months bought by owners Hill Dishman and Craig Johnson. The boat is sweet, the perfect day charter boat for Guatemala and after her time in the yard she is ready to go. A 40ft cold-molded open bulkhead boat built by Virginia
Beach boat builder Nelva Capps and Capps Boatworks......
She had been through a pre-purchase restoration which included new power and paint and we finished her off in the yard with new teak decks, covering boards, gen-set and an aft enclosure for the 2 x new kick ass 16000BTU AC units. This means being able to fish with the polycarbonate center enclosure folded up and still being right there in the fishing action and being able to cool off in the open cabin. Those new AC units really will make the difference on those hot days. The cockpit is huge, a great fishing platform and all in all she is THE perfect charter boat for Guatemala. After a 2519 nm delivery from Stuart through the Caribbean, Panama Canal and up the Pacific side to Guatemala we can say she runs like a dream, some fairly hefty seas on the Caribbean side tested her out and she passed with flying colors. We can't wait to start fishing her here in Guatemala and look forward to the up-coming season, she is ready to go right now and with some of the fishing we have been having lately why wait??
While away on June 14th and 15th Chief Tauzin came down with a 2 boat group of Travis Findley, Spencer Morgan, Stu Stover, Charlie Hansen, Jonathan Lindsey and JP Michel. What a couple of days fishing and a great time down at the lodge for the group with the guys releasing 101 sailfish in two days from over 150 bites and 208 sailfish raised, throw in a few mahi's and 3 blue marlin raised what an excellent mid June trip. Great weather during the days and some rain in the evenings to cool things off meant a nice temperate climate.....

July 5th and 6th we welcomed to Guatemala the Dishman family of Jamie and Cindy with Annie and Jim, the Wilson family of Burnice and Brenda with son's Brock and Brandtley and Mark and Kim Bellard all from Beaumont, Texas. The group started off their trip at La Reunion golf course and resort enjoying a couple days of golf and shopping in Anigua and ended up with 2 days of fishing.
The Wilson family, Burnice, Brock, Brenda and Brandtley.
The group split it up with fishing and golf the first day and the second day some content to sit around the pool and enjoy their time at the Oasis and the others out fishing. Good fishing as well with 15 sailfish released and well over 40 mahi mahi boated....
Annie Dishman with one of many great eating sized dorado/mahi's
Brock and Annie with one of many sails for the trip.

July 4th-6th 2013. As my 20yr old son said - "This is the greatest trip ever!" The fishing was amazing - 2 days - 15 sailfish and 40+ dorado. Our family of four enjoyed the Lodge and the staff immensely. The staff created the most fabulous meals, fresh fish, fresh fruits and the best vegetables! The accommodations were excellent and so relaxing! Thanks for your hospitality. The Wilson family, Beaumont, Texas.

Great fishing year round here in Guatemala! We are starting to fill up dates for the up-coming season so book now to avoid disappointment. The new boat will be a dream to fish off and we'll get you on the fish.....
